The 4th and Bear Lake...
for the 4th of july weekend we flew into salt lake city and then drove up to Bear Lake to spend an extended weekend with tyson's family. we had so much fun and it was so great to see everyone, and even better, it was great that everyone got to meet brody! Tyson's ENTIRE family was there. that was the best part of all.
brody seriously had the best time EVER! He loved playing in the water and playing in the rocks. he also really loved the staircase in the house, he would take a seat at the end of the stairs and just chill for a bit. he is so dang cute.
tyson and his brothers.
we actually were staying on the "idaho" side of the lake, but one day we drove over to the "utah" side and walked around a tiny little town. and of course we had to get a picture with a bear. and apparently i think i am funny.
my friend jamie (shout out!) told me that while we were in bear lake we had to have rasberry ice cream at 'la beaus'. and we did just that - and it was AMAZING! yum! brody loved it too!
here are a few pictures...two pretty views and the house we stayed in.
we also got to be apart of the blessing of our new niece Paige. She is a doll and so sweet.
our attempt of taking a picture of all the cousins...18 and counting!
tyson and his whole family.
love these two!!
this was just one of the AMAZING views on our way to Mandy's house. Idaho really is beautiful. we left sunday afternoon from the house in Bear Lake and headed back to tyson's sister's house in Ririe Idaho. I was so excited to go back to Mandy's house and feel right at home. and that we did. we were back in our stomping grounds and it was like we never left. i love that feeling.
there were some tractors outside by mandy's house and brody LOVED them!
of course sunday was the 4th of July...and we indeed celebrated. we started off while still day light with a bazillion little boxes of the "snap thingys", and Brody seriously is all BOY...tyson showed him what to do, and he was hooked! he loved it.
sunday night we set off a tons of fireworks, roasted hog dogs and marshmallows. but not just your average marshmallow...softball size mallows we bought in Ohio. they were AWESOME! and i was so busy stuffing my face with mallows that these were the only two pictures i took that night. not the best pictures...but at least making memories.
and of course we celebrated Tyson's Birthday! He was born on the 4th of July!
monday morning, we headed into "town" aka Rexburg. awe good old Rexburg. let's not even begin to count how many years I/we spent there. But it was great to go back. we walked around campus and drove around town. it was fun. we drove past the temple which i love and i took an "ok" picture of the thriving metropolis that is rexburg. ha. and of course a pretty picture of just one of many wide open fields. it was great to visit.
and of course while in Rexburg and it being summer it was only tradition to hit up the SNO OASIS...only THE BEST sno cone place EVER! I can't even express to you how happy we were. l-o-v-e sno oasis.
brody gett'in loved up by all his aunties. we love them!!
tuesday morning we drove back to Salt Lake and headed back to Columbus. but we did have some airport fun. we flew from SLC to Minneapolis and we had a good time killing time before our flight to Columbus.
brody was obssesed with the carry-on thinys. he was cracking us up! he was the perfect size! ha. and well that was it! good times were had. we were so happy we had the chance to see all of Tyson's family. Hopefully someday we will live closer to everyone...LOTS closer!! Thanks Everyone for a fantastic time! We Love You!
