all growing up my family had a christmas tradition where every 5th of december we would write letters to santa, put our letter in one of our shoe's and santa's helper 'St. Nic' would come and pick up our letters and leave us some sort of present.
every year when 'St. Nic' would leave us a present he would also leave us a christmas ornament that we would hang on the tree. i've done this every year of my life, and the tradition was introduced to tyson when we were married and our little family continues to carry this tradition as well.
and when december 5th rolled around, we drank our big mugs of hot chocolate, read the book 'the polar express', and wrote our letters to santa. when we are done with our letters we sit around and read them out loud. brody just colored a picture and we added a little letter. i guess i was too busy having fun, because i didn't take any pictures of us in action. but i did take a few pictures of our letter's in our shoes and the goodies which 'St.Nic' left for us.

he came!
our presents and ornaments
we all got a little present and an ornament along with a family ornament. i truly love this tradition. i love that it's magical and how it invites the christmas spirit of believing!

We love him too! We always go to the Dutch store in town and get chocolate letters! I love traditions!
That's adorable. Your dad has told me about St.Nic but I think I may have to start doing it next year!
